Should I call an ambulance?
Does the person have an injury or is the person’s condition life threatening? If the answer is yes to either of the questions or if you are unsure, there is a telephone consultation service available 24 hours 7 days a week, headquartered at Emergency Relief Center, “the Kyukyu Anshin Center in Sapporo” (救急安心センター札幌). Press #7119 on your telephone and a nurse will promptly respond to you. Tell the nurse about your condition and he/she will help you decide if your situation requires an ambulance. He/she will refer you to a hospital or clinic if necessary, or connect you to #119 if you have an emergency condition. This service supports 21 languages namely, English, Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Tagalog, Indonesian, German, Italian, Russian, Malay, Myanmar, Khmer, Mongolian, Sinhalese, Hindi, and Bengali other than Japanese. Regarding therapy and/or medication for a disease under treatment, please consult with your medical provider, as we cannot give advice to you in those areas. The nurse-dispatcher will have to ask about the symptoms in detail. This is why it is necessary to talk to the patient directly or to anyone accompanying the patient, who can tell about the symptoms comprehensively.
- In case of emergency please call 119 directly.
- Please call 011-272-7119 with dial or IP telephone.
- You have to pay cost of a call.
