If you need childcare services
【Day Care Center/Hoikuen保育園】
Day Care Centers might not be able to accept your child immediately because there are a lot of children on the waiting list. If both parents work full-time, they have priority.
If you want your child to go to a day-care center from April 1st, at the beginning of fiscal or academic year, the application procedure starts in November. The provision of daycare services will then be determined at the begining of February after screening process.

【Temporary Child Care Services/Ichiji hoiku 一時保育】
You can use this system on a day-to-day basis.
standard rate: ¥1,200～¥2,700 per day/(varies depending on ages and reasons)
example: you work part-time a few days a week,
in the case of emergencies, or to have a break etc.

【Child Care Services on weekends and Public Holidays 休日保育】
※ Prior annual registration is required. Then apply for the service every month,following the service schedule (in Japanese)
Those eligible: children 5 months of age or older who already attend approved Day Care Centers.
Days available：Sunday, Public Holidays (Except 12/28～1/3)
Time：8 a.m.～7 p.m. (9 a.m.～5 p.m. for Aoba Kousho)

【Regional Facility 地域型保育】
For children from 5 months to under 2 years of age who meet the requirements for entering Day Care Center (if your child reaches the age of three years, s/he can stay there until the end of the fiscal year)

【Family Support Center Program ファミリー サポート センター プログラム】
This is a system that supports families raising children by establishing membership organizations consisting of parents who want help with childcare and people who wish to assist such parents.
【Services available】
Taking children to and from Day Care, accepting children after Day Care Center or Kindergarten and accepting children when they are sick (but not seriously sick) etc.
At a house where this service is offered (in principle).
【Time】 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
【Fee】 ¥350 per half hour, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays
¥400 per half hour for the rest of the time
※You may need to pay for transportation expenses etc.

【 Sapporo Children Emergency Support Network 緊急サポネット】
【services available】
if your child cannot go to Day Care because of any sudden illness, if you need emergency childcare because of sudden overtime, if your child needs a place to stay overnight etc.
Your child will stay at your house or a supporting member’s house, depending on circumstances.
【Hours】
For sick children: 7:30 to 6 p.m. from Monday to Saturday
For non-sick children: 7:30 to 11 p.m.
For overnight stays: after Day Care or after-school care until your child goes to Day Care or school
【Fee】
For sick children: ¥500 per half an hour
For non-sick children: ¥500 per half hour 7:30-6 p.m.
¥600 per half hour 6 to 11 p.m.
For overnight stays:¥12.000 (under 3 years old)
¥10.000 (over 3 years old)

【Day Service for Recuperating Children 病後児保育（byougoji-hoiku）】

Those eligible: infants who have just recovered from an illness but
cannot return to Day Care Center yet but cannot stay home due to parents’ reasons
(5 months of age～6th grade of elementary school)
Up to 4 infants per day (reservation only)
