Vaccinations given only at Public Health Centers in Sapporo City free of charge

BCG vaccine : given once at 5 months (between the age of 5 months and 7) should be under 12 months of age.

Routine Vaccinations given at hospitals and clinics of your choice

Vaccinations are free for children by following recommended vaccination schedule

DPT-IPV

given 4 times,
between the ages of 3 months and 7.5 years
( ¥ 12,100/shot for people >7.5 years old)
IPV only: ¥ 9,900×4
DT only: ¥3,850×1
DPT only: ¥6,600×1
MR
(Measles and rubella)

given twice: between the ages of 12 and 23 months and around the age of 6 years (during the year before admission to elementary school)

(￥9,900/shot for people after entering elementary school)
Hib vaccine
  • ◊ given 4 times when started before the age of 6 months.
    (First three shots given every 4 weeks. The last (4th) shot given at least 7 months after the third shot.
  • ◊ given 3 times when started after 7 months to 11 months.
    (First two shots given every 4 weeks and the last (3rd) shot given 7 months after the second shot)
  • ◊ given once when started over the age of 12 months.

Hib vaccine is available only for children under 5 years old.
(¥7,700/shot for people ≥5years old)
PCV
(Pneumococcal vaccine 13)
  • ◊  given 4 times when started before the age of 6 months. (First three shots given every 4 weeks.
    The last (4th) shot given at least 60 days after the third shot. (recommended between the ages of 12 and 15 months)
  • ◊ given 3 times when started between ages 7 and 11 months.
    (First two shots given every 4 weeks and the last (3rd) shot given at least 60 days after the second shot.)
  • ◊ given twice when started between the ages of 12 and 23 months. (Two shots given 60 days apart)
  • ◊ given once when started over 2 years old.

PCV vaccine is available only for children under 5 years old.
(¥10,450/ shot for people ≥5 years old)
HPV
(Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine)

given to junior high school students and first year high school students in Sapporo-city free of charge.
There are 2 types of the vaccine, Cervarix and Gardasil.
 Cervarix: given three times, at 0, +1 month and 6months.
Gadasil: given three times at 0, +2 months and 6months.( ¥ 16,500/ shot for people not eligible)
 Gardasil is available only for females/males between 9 and 26 years old.

Women who were born between April 2, 1997, and April 1, 2008, and could not be vaccinated against HPV because it was not recommended by the government can receive the vaccination free of charge from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2025.
Chicken Pox vaccine given twice starting after 1 year of age, at an interval of 4-12months. ( ¥ 8,250×2 for people not eligible)

Japanese Encephalitis vaccine

 

 given 4 times, available from 6 months old, recommended for over 3 years old.
*Vaccine immunization for people 20 years of age and older is voluntary. Three shots will establish primary immunization, and it is followed by a booster shot every 4- 5 years. This is an inactivated vaccination which does not establish permanent immunization. ¥6,050 for each shot.
Hepatitis B vaccine

 Given 3 times at least 3 weeks apart.
HB vaccine is available only for children under 12 months old.

Anti-Rotavirus vaccines

Rotarix: ¥ 14,300×2
Rotarix and Rotateq are available. Rotarix requires two oral intakes, while Rotateq requires three oral intakes.
Both should be given between 2 and 5 months of age,4 weeks apart.
