How to receive the subsidy

pink card

Prior application is necessary to receive this aid. Please apply at the time of the Registration of Birth, or when you move into Sapporo City. There is an income-based limit on aid. If your application is approved, you will receive the Child Medical Expense Subsidy Card called a “pink card”. Please show this card every time you visit a medical facility.

Be aware that pink cards expire at the end of each July

Sapporo City confirms the parental income of each child with a pink card every July. If your child is eligible, you will receive a new pink card by the end of July. If not, you will receive a letter explaining.
