DT (diphtheria and tetanus) Vaccination and Echinococcosis

Don’t forget to have DT vaccination.
A child upon reaching the age of 11 or 12 is eligible for DT vaccination available at the
designated hospital or clinic for free. To find out the nearest hospital or clinic, call Sapporo city Contact Center at 011-222-4894(7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.).

Beware of echinococcosis.
Echinococcus may be transmitted to people by fox’s feces so beware of echinococcosis.
Keep in mind the following points.
1: wash your hands thoroughly after coming home.
2: Don’t touch a fox or its feces nor feed it.
3: Wash mountain vegetables thoroughly under running water.
4: Don’t drink unboiled water in mountainous areas.
